The Ponderosa Stomp and Rabbit Factory Invade SXSW

The Ponderosa Stomp and Rabbit Factory Invade SXSW

Barbara Mason
John Swenson of New Orleans based magazine Offbeat once wrote: “The Ponderosa Stomp, is one of the greatest assemblages of roots music in history. It’s a true illustration of music without boundaries.”

The internationally revered Ponderosa Stomp, exists to celebrate, pay tribute to, and teach the cultural significance of the unsung heroes and heroines of rock-n-roll, rhythm & blues and other forms of American roots music while they are still alive. The Stomp festival and its year-round activities provide both a voice and career revival to overlooked sidemen, session musicians and other influential pioneers whose contributions have shaped American culture for over 50 years.

We are proud to announce that the Stomp will return to SXSW once again and this year they bring to us such under heralded legends as Little Freddie King, Kenny and the Kasuals, Ralph Soul Jackson, Herman Hitson, Wiley and the Checkmates, Barbara Mason, Michael Hurtt and the Haunted Hearts and The Flaming Arrows Mardi Gras Indians.
