Girl Power
Girl Power
An ironclad male superhero didn’t top the box office this weekend. Not even a wisecracking, fedora-wearing archaeologist. Nope. It was a film about four women in New York that made $55.7 million. Why the shock? Anyone in show business knows it’s a predominately male-driven world. But girls don’t fret!
There’s inspiration out there; you just have to know where to look. Take Heidi McLean, for instance, a former audio engineer, who founded two entertainment-support companies, PayReel and Crew Connection. Heidi launched Crew Connection with $10,000 of her own savings. Both companies have seen steady growth, but PayReel has grown 30% each year over the past three years and is now ranked 22nd among the Top 100 Woman-Owned business in Colorado and made Inc. Magazine’s list of 5000 fastest-growing private companies in America. If that’s not inspiration, I don’t know what is. (If you’d like to read more about Heidi, click here.)
