Saturday, March 15, 2008 (11:00 am – 5:30pm)

11:00 am - 12:20 pm: I Love Hip Hop In Morocco
This film takes a look at a group of rap artists in Morocco who are working to present a series of concerts in a country where rap isn't very accepted. See the odds these performers face in this eye-opening, amazing film. In the end they present a concert to almost 20,000 people.

12:45 pm -2:00 pm: Slingshot Hip Hop – Hip Hop in Palestine
This exhilarating documentary from the emerging Palestinian Hip Hop scene is heartbreaking, humorous and unlike anything else you've seen on contemporary life in Palestine and Israel. Saturated with the style and sound of Palestine's first rappers, the film brings us close to its young protagonists as they make history armed with only their voices.

A local, family-friendly hip hop duo consisting of Bavu Blakes and Element 7D.

3:30 pm - 4:30pm: Hip Hop, Politics & The Ever Changing Music Business
Chuck D once called Hip-Hop "Black people's CNN." Is it still today? Do today's rap artists feel as though their hands are tied when it comes to speaking on social issues? Is it only about the party in 2008? Does the music business actively try to stifle the potential message? Watch as David Banner (Jackson, MS), Salih Williams (Austin, TX), Jean Grae (Brooklyn, NY), Tech N9ne(Kansas City, KC) and panel moderator Soren Bake, editor of Source Magazine, wrestle with these and other questions.

5:00pm - 5:30pm: Performance by Terel Shahid
