Synopsis:
An abused and alienated teenage boy, Abe (Ryan Donowho), and his absentee father, Sonny (Xander Berkeley), attempt to re-establish their relationship while struggling to overcome addictions to crystal meth amidst a household of meth addicts. In addition to handling the demons within, Abe must protect his six year-old cousin, Deandra, from her abusive father, Bump (Anson Mount), whose addiction to meth fuels jealousy and contempt for Abe. The persistent inner battle against drug addiction and the spiraling behavior of those around him lead Abe to take drastic action in order to save himself and his young cousin. Director's Bio:
David Pomes was raised in Houston, Texas. He attended the University of Texas in Austin where he graduated with a BA in Government in 1991. He graduated from Texas Tech University, School of Law in 1996. After practicing law for ten years, David decided to make a movie. Writing his script late into the night after work, he quit practicing law when he completed the script. He then set forth to make his first film, "Cook County." |
