Synopsis:
On February 12th, 2005, a 73 year-old Catholic nun from Ohio, was shot six times at point blank range and left to die on a muddy Amazon road. Who was this woman, and why was she killed? What will become of her murderers, and who else was involved? What are the implications of her murder and these trials on the future? Director's Bio:
Daniel Junge's first feature-length film, "Chiefs," on the Wyoming Indian High School basketball team, won best documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival and broadcast nationally on PBS. Since that time, he has directed a number of films, including the regional Emmy-winner "Big Blue Bear," the PBS-broadcast "Reading Your Rights," and the 6-part series "Common Good," recipient of four regional Emmys. Most recently, Junge's feature documentary "Iron Ladies of Liberia," on Africa's first elected female president, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and has aired on over 50 broadcasters, and soon to be on PBS. |
