Synopsis:
Quinceanera is a short film made by two immigrant students for the East Austin Stories Project created by Filmmaker Andy Garrison. The idea was to follow a girl throughout the different steps that lead up to the celebration of her 15 year old birthday party; better known as Quinceanera. The result is a glimpse to the massive implications behind the idea of the American Dream; a concept that is experienced when a Teen Birthday Party becomes an event used to consolidate heritage, and identity among a community that would like to believe they can call this 'new' country their home; once and for all.
