Synopsis:
Joe is an 11 year old with a problem. While other kids in the neighbourhood are strolling around in the newest, latest footwear, Joe's battered old trainers are falling apart. "Not cool" for a loner, trying to summon up the courage to talk to Alice, the girl-next-door, Joe's life seems to be going nowhere, until the day he gets his hands on a new pair of shoes. Director's Bio:
Born in Brighton, England, Paul recently completed ODD SHOE, a short for the UK Film Council set in his hometown. His previous short, ESTES AVENUE, premiered at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, following his debut, the HBO-acquired JEFF FARNSWORTH, and LAST HAND STANDING, made when he was a Finalist in the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival.Paul's feature work includes BOMBER, a script scheduled to be shot in Germany in the summer of 2008 and CARAMEL, currently with Executive Producer Doug Liman (SWINGERS, GO and THE BOURNE IDENTITY). Paul is also writing and directing a radio play, 60 YEARS LATER, for the BBC.Paul also directs theatre; recent productions have included Donald Lewis's GOOD GIRL for the Bailiwick, Richard Dresser's WONDERFUL WORLD for the Infamous Commonwealth Theatre, and Neil Simon's BAREFOOT IN THE PARK for VPT in Chicago. |
