Synopsis:
Young Iranian exile Ghaffar Pourazar, one of the few foreigners ever to have trained as a Beijing Opera star, travels together with the leading actors of the Beijing Opera troop to Islamic Teheran. Atheist, Chinese and religious Iranians have been making billion-dollar deals for years. But now for a first time Mullahs and Kung Fu-dancers meet on the cultural stage while the threat of an US led war looms. Director's Bio:
Frank Sieren (Germany) is a documentary maker and bestseller author. According to the London Times he is 'one of the leading German China specialists'. His 45 minutes documentary about China and Africa has been broadcast in June 2007 in Germany on ZDF with a market share of over 10 percent. His latest documentary Beijing Opera on a Persian Rug has recently been completed. |
