Synopsis:
In a bathroom set with diamonds, white cake, and a porcelain claw-foot tub, a beautiful young woman readies for death. She's hooked up to a machine, which instead of reading her vital signs emits a warning about the extinction of dinosaurs. In the minutes before her death, she practices a ritual to prepare herself for the unknown. Director's Bio:
Priya Sanghvi is one half of the dynamic director's collective, M.A.Y.O, based in New York City. She directs music videos, short films, and other short-form work with co-director, Dan Scott Goldstein. Poised to be the next big breakout in commercial and music video directing, M.A.Y.O. has continued to produce fresh, inventive work for a range of projects, from hip hop music videos, to experimental shorts, to short non-fiction work. For 'Bathtub,' Priya drew from her knowledge and interest in high fashion (specifically the work of Tom Ford), the movement to end climate change, her own Indian heritage, and the rise and fall of developed societies and prehistoric animals. Priya has a BFA in Film and Television from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. |
