Synopsis:
'Rainbow Around the Sun' is a rock musical about the healing power of creativity. Matthew Alvin Brown stars as Zachary Blasto, a hard-drinking, talented songwriter and performer who envisions madcap musical fantasies in order to avoid dealing with the downward spiral of his personal life.'Rainbow' follows an unconventional narrative, owing its episodic structure to concept albums like 'Tommy' and 'Pink Floyd: The Wall.' Spoken dialogue is kept to a minimum, and scenes are sequenced like songs; Dramatic moments flow seamlessly into honky tonk performances and animated Busby-Berkeley style hallucinations. The result is a fresh, deeply personal roller coaster of emotion that has the impact of a great film and the re-playability of a favorite album.

Director's Bio:
Kevin Ely, Director - Producer - ScreenplayKevin Ely self-produced his first stage play, "Feigning Grace," in 1998 and has since worked as a writer, photojournalist, and video producer in Oklahoma City. In early 2006 he began a filmmaking partnership with Beau Leland and Matthew Alvin Brown, producing several short films including 'MissCommunication,' the winner of the Living Arts of Tulsa 24 Hour Video Race. "Rainbow Around the Sun,' his first feature, was selected for the 2007 IFP Narrative Rough Cut Lab.

Beau J. Leland, Director - Producer - EditorBeau J. Leland works as a freelance editor, cinematographer, and producer in Oklahoma City. He has a special love for music video production, contributing to videos for Oklahoma natives The Flaming Lips, Kunek, and Hinder. "Rainbow Around the Sun" is his first feature as director, and was one of 10 films selected for the 2007 IFP Narrative Rough Cut Lab.
