Old Man River is the solo project for Ohad Rein. A sometimes collaborator with members of Gomez, The Sleepy Jackson and other interesting future folk-rock artists. It is a special project named after the mighty Mississippi River and signifies the ever changing ebb and flow of life. Old Man River is sometimes one man and his guitar, sometimes a sitar playing duo, other times a 5 piece electric band. It is always a wonderful journey. In 2007 Old Man River's debut album was released in Australia, Italy, Germany, Korea and Japan among other countries. This is not 'world music' but music for the world. In many of those countries the singles from the album topped the radio charts - such as Italy (#2), Japan (#1) and Australia (#1). Ohad brings to Old Man River experience from a life lived in the Middle East, Europe, the US and the Antipodes. This is clearly a special artist - sometimes compared to Beck, and other times the more obvious The Band / Dylan references. And never compared lightly.
