The Western Civilization is a five piece indie/rock/electroacoustic/pop band from Houston, TX. The band was formed in 2005 as a recording side project. In 2006 the band released a 4 song EP. After nearly two years of recording and playing shows, Letters of Resignation was released in March 2007 as the band's first full length album. In October 2007 the band set out on a month long 25 date tour of the eastern US to try and bring their debut album to a wider audience. The sound of the band is a melting pot of many influences incorporating noisy electronic drum loops, electric and acoustic guitars, piano, synths, organ, glockenspiel, bass, drums, and anything else that they can get their hands on. An onslaught of dualing male/female vocals, three part harmonies, and brutally honest lyrics glue all of the madness together. There is lots of good stuff brewing for these folks. Keep your eyes peeled!
