About The Tennessee Boltsmokers
TNBS is an americana/bluegrass band from Memphis, TN. Their first release, Songs From the Floor, was released in late 2003. The most frequently played track was a Boltsmoker version of Bob McDill's classic hit Turn Out the Light and Love me Tonight (originally recorded by Don Williams). Other singles included Midtown, New York City on the Floor, Everybody and Never Be Mine. The new sophomore release, Hydroradio, was inspired during the tour support of their first release - particularly when the band was performing throughout the northeastern US. The name was derived listening to the first hydroelectric powered radio station in the U.S., located in the Catskills Mountains area. The boltsmokers are forging a new musical path in bluegrass music that could only come from a collision of musical styles in that mysterious Memphis-way. |
