Balmorhea is a pure sound amidst a broadening spectrum of shifting musical thought. Their music exists as a reconciliation of antiquity and modernity. Through leaving room for the listener to approach each piece, Balmorhea aspires to create a landscape that can be explored and appreciated from any number of angles or approaches and longing to understand and put a form to the myriad of beautiful and terrible things encountered on this earth.

Each piece is interwoven as a tapestry of piano, guitars, strings and other threads of sound; conjuring nostalgic sprigs that scrape the bright experimental canopy overhead.

In fall 2007, Balmorhea signed with Western Vinyl, released "Rivers Arms" in February of 2008 that gained quick acclaim as the group toured the eastern and midwest US in support.
