Doomtree is a Minneapolis-based hip hop collective of nine best friends who work as solo artists and in collaboration with one another to create some of the most forward-thinking beats and rhymes this side of 1987. Doomtree’s brand of aggressive, intelligent hip hop is the product of their innovative producers, their passionate emcees, and their eagerness to bend the rules of traditional hip hop. They’ve been recording and performing as a crew for over seven years, and have released thirteen discs to date. Doomtree Records is currently preparing to unleash their biggest project so far—the long-awaited Doomtree crew album (due Spring 2008), which features the distinctive talents of all nine members. Expect sharp, thought-provoking content, rallying choruses, and melancholy vocal lines over expansive production that marries neck-snapping snares and back-rubbing melody. Gross.
