JET LAG
For years, Jet Lag has been one of the most important alternative Spanish bands. Based in Madrid, they quickly became the "next big thing" in the Spanish music scene with their debut album ("Amplifier", 2000). The songs in that first album put them really close to some of their heroes, like R.E.M. or Wilco, bands that know how to mix elegant pop songwriting with a rock attitude.

Press nationwide acclaimed the record unanimously and also published great reviews about their live shows, much better than expected for a new band, maybe because Jet Lag had started one year before testing their songs on stage as supporting act for some American bands on tour in Spain (Gigolo Aunts, Nada Surf, Big Soul…) and playing in the best rock festivals all over the country: Benicassim, Festimad, Azkena... And even England and Portugal.

Since then, their career never stopped: four records, from the urgent and powerful “Beautiful Scars” (2002, released in the USA through Get Hip Recordings and with great sellings in Japan) to the acclaimed “Jet Lag” (2005, chosen in each and every magazine as one of the best records of the year -it was a giant and risky step into a more complex pop writing- and with brilliant collaborations from artists like Gary Louris -The Jayhawks-, Steve Wynn -ex Dream Syndicate- or Stacey Earle).

In 2007 they released “Forever” (October 2007), which has become an impressive success in only a few weeks: not many bands, even out of Spain, can create immediate pop hits wrapped in such a bittersweet atmosphere, developed from a huge range of arrangements and a unique taste for good music. And that's what Jet Lag does best.

It is difficult to find a label to define them, as it happens with great bands. In a state of constant evolution, they are a “brave” band, ready to mutate, investigate, take risks and move forward. Which will be their next step?
