ORO11 plays and creates dance music for people to get down - from the barrios of Bajo Flores to the rhythms of Jamaica. He started spinning back in his home town of San Francisco for various openings for Planet Magazine and underground night clubs such as LIPO Lounge, 330 Ritch, and Foreign Cinema. SF´s abundance of world-class record shops led to a vinyl addiction to Jamaican dubplates, hip hop, funk and heavy soul beats. In 2004, he relocated to Buenos Aires and was exposed to more regional rhythms to add to the mix. Cumbia music in particular caught his attention and led to a series of original remixes and mash-ups blending jamaical/soul acapellas over electro-cumbia beats. His music has been featured in Fader Magazine, the Mad Decent blog, and XLR8R among others. Recent collaborations with other Latin American artists such as Daleduro, El Hijo de La Cumbia, and Marcelo Fabian are in the works for a series of new vinyl releases on DiscosBersa.
