"Free Sõl” is a state of mind...a freedom of expression. And the musicians that make up the Free Sõl band (Kickman Teddy, Premo Danger, Elliott Ives, and of course, Free Sõl) further illustrate this point because they are all uniquely expressive in their own right. Musical visionaries as diverse as Prince, Slick Rick, Sting, and Jimi Hendrix have all influenced Free Sõl with their keen abilities to craft and stir emotion through song. Consequently, the Memphis-based collective has developed a sound that seamlessly blends these influences together, placing it comfortably on the cutting edge. Together since 2003, the innovative bunch combines elements of hip-hop, rock, and soul in a manner that is unparalleled, making it almost impossible to pigeonhole their music into one particular genre. After many years of hard work, the band recently achieved a great milestone by signing with Justin Timberlake’s upstart label, Tennman Records. They are currently in the studio working on their first album under Justin’s tutelage.
