Bud Melvin has been a pioneer in the chip music renaissance since 2001. He has taken his performances across the United States to Europe, using only a banjo and a Nintendo Gameboy as his accompaniment. He is featured in the new documentary, "Blip Festival: Reformat the Planet" (also submitted to SXSW this year) and has produced several self-released CDs. In addition, he has songs appearing on the upcoming Japanese compilation, "Holy 8bit Night" and the "King of Kong" DVD Release. He is also an active member of many other bands on pedal steel and banjo, including the Grave of Nobody's Darling, Lionhead Bunny, Lowlights, Dirty//Birdies, and The Blue Rose Ramblers.
