Haunting, genuine, beautiful & sparse are words most often used to describe the music of Correatown. Currently living in Los Angeles, songwriter Angela Correa is originally from a small town in Northern California. Her music skirts genres; an amalgam of fuzzed out lo-fi indie rock, early American folk & the darker tones of classic rock. Influenced as much by Elisabeth Cotton & Jack Elliot as the likes of PJ Harvey & Neil Young, Correatown flirts with traditional folk by bringing subtle stories to life with fluid melodies, distinctive arrangement & contemporary topics. Correatown is both literate and whimsical, and the nuance & subtlety of her voice is what most intrigues listeners.
