Space City Gamelan is Houston's very own Indonesian Orchestra. Founded in 2005, Space City Gamelan performs both traditional pieces & innovative modern music on gamelan. Gamelan music is known for it's syncopated polyrhythms & unique tunings played by a group of performers. Space City Gamelan's sound has been described as "psychotropic lullabys" referencing the delicate interplay of metallophones, drum patterns and tempo.
