  Meiko - How Lucky We Are

Hailing from the humble hamlet of Roberta, Georgia--population 808--is Meiko, a gifted songbird whose intimate, confessional performances have been attracting a building buzz, both at the burgeoning Hotel Café scene in her adopted home of Hollywood and nationwide.

Her first big break came when Nic Harcourt, Music Director at KCRW Los Angeles and host of the famed “Morning Becomes Eclectic” program, started placing her songs in regular rotation on both “Morning…” and “Sounds Eclectic,” the nationally syndicated version of his signature show.

Then, she received an assist from cyberspace: her self-titled, self-released debut album recently reached #35 on the iTunes Top 100 Albums chart and was the #1 Folk album, totaling well over 200,000 downloads and netting Meiko the “Indie Spotlight” designation, as well as placement on their “Best of 2007” feature.

She also played over 100 gigs in 2007, with 2008 appearances set for Sundance, SXSW and the Hotel Café tour.

In addition, her music has been featured in such hit TV series as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Kyle XY” and “Moonlight,” and even earned a rave review from über-blogger Perez Hilton, who wrote, “If you like singer/songwriters then you will be foaming at the mouth for Meiko.”
