OCELOT is Cory Kilduff of Austin, TX and James Welsh of Leeds, England, both programmers and knob twister¹s of hardcore band, The Rise. In between relentless writing sessions for the second RISE record Reclamation Process, they started to work on an new body of electronic heavy music. As The Rise came to an end, the boys were still flooded with remix requests and even asked to play shows: Ocelot was born. Being on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean, Kilduff and Welsh cultivated Ocelot out of countless iChat transfers, bit by bit, over and over, from Texas to England, assembling the pieces until each track was completed. After enough iChat transfers and enough time passed, the idea of Ocelot as a full-time project became and a reality and the two found themselves producing their own songs on top of the all the remixes. A few times a year Kilduff and Welsh are able to get together and work in the same room, fleshing out new material at an alarming rate, and play various performances. Despite the dividing distance, the two came together last year with Dallas, Texas¹ The Secret Handshake, to produce and co-write their full-length record released on Triple Crown Records.With plenty of experience under their belt, Ocelot has entered the studio to work on a series of 12² singles and a forthcoming full length to debut on IHEARTCOMIX records.
