From being a small garage band to being the opening act for the Rolling

Stones, FOBIA celebrates 20 years of music.

The year was 1987, Mexico City was a place where rock and roll was
practically banned since 1968. Things were changing politically,
economically and socially. A new generation of musicians, fed up with
the music you heard on the radio was emerging... bands like Caifanes,
Maldita Vecindad and Fobia.

Since their first album (FOBIA) for BMG, the band was different and
cutting edge in their music and image. Produced by Marteen, the album
opened may doors for Fobia and bands to come, radio dj's started
playing it all over the country. The first single, "El Microbito" has
become a classic song in mexican rock.

Then came MUNDO FELIZ, their second album, in which the band reaffirms
their sound and playful imagery in the lyrics. Produced by Marteen, the
album includes the hit single "El Diablo" another classic song.

In 1993 they release LECHE, one of the most important and influential
albums in mexican rock. Recorded in New York City and produced by
Marteen, the album generated a lot of controversy and allowed the band
to tour through Mexico, the United States, South and Central America.

Their next album AMOR CHIQUITO, produced by academy award winner
Gustavo Santaolalla, included the singles "Revolución sin Manos",
"Veneno Vil" and "Hipnotízame" selling more than 100,000 copies and the
band became one one the biggest rock acts in Mexico.

The band took a break and returned in 2004 with three sold-out concerts
Mexico City's Teatro Metropolitan. ROSA VENUS, their new album produced
by Gordon Raphael, went to number one in just one day.

To celebrate their 20 years in music tha band has just released a DVD
with a live concert in México City's Auditorio Nacional and a
documentary with the band's history. The band is currently touring the
United States, Central America and México.
