SXSW has a new shortcode: 47979
Overview
The SXSW SMS messaging system serves two primary purposes:

To send notifications about events or news to a group of people
who have opted-in to receive such notifications.

To provide an searchable interface to SXSW's Music Fest, Film Fest, and
Panels schedules.
Keywords
To interact with the SXSW SMS messaging system, send a text message to
47979. The first word of your message is interpreted as a
keyword, or a command that will trigger an action by the
system.
The most useful keywords you may want to know are:

STOP
Delete your phone number from the system, and receive no further
updates. You will still be able to use the interactive search
features.

JOIN
Add your phone number to the group that will receive event and
news alerts.

FIND <search term>
Find information about Music Fest Showcases, Film Fest Screenings
and Conference Panels by name. Using FIND will NOT
add your number to the group that will receive event and news
alerts. Searches that return multiple results will prefix each result with 1), 2) and so on. Text back the number of the result that you're interested in
to get complete schedule info for that event.

FIND [B|F|IP|FP|MP] <search term> A finer-grained, event-specific search. Text Find mp industry, for example, to find music panels with the word
industry in their name. The five subkeywords are as follows: B=band, F=film, IP=interactive panel, FP=film panel, MP=music panel.

to get complete schedule info for that event.

JOIN [PLATINUM|GOLD|INTERACTIVE|FILM|MUSIC] Join an alert group whose messages are specifically targeted to badge-holding registrants.
For example, if you are a Music Conference badge holder, text Join music to 47979 to recieve messages relevant to the SXSW Music Conference and
Festival.
STOP [PLATINUM|GOLD|INTERACTIVE|FILM|MUSIC] Leave a specified badge-related alert group.
